Month 3: Finding Their Voice

Baby is becoming more social, vocal, and physically active. Expect lots of cooing and giggling!

Physical milestones

• Lifts head and chest during tummy time
• Reaches for and bats at dangling objects
• Bears weight on legs when held standing
• Opens and closes hands, grasps toys

Emotional and cognitive milestones

• Laughs and squeals with delight
• Recognizes familiar people at a distance
• Imitates some facial expressions
• Shows excitement with whole body
